Week 4

Hello everyone:

On week six I ran 16-17 miles, felt great and could have completed a marathon.  Last week I ran 18-19 miles and had bowel problems and dehydration.  Not a fun day.  

Felt great with my swims in our shallow rose lake.  Its temperature was about 60 degrees.  My friend and I swam Hayden lake since it is located on the bike course.  Holy Moly's was it cold.  50 degrees.   Same temperature as lake Couer d Alene.  We were able to complete a 2.5mile swim, but it never felt comfortable.   Then we road our bikes on the 28 mile section of hills.

My bike riding is getting better, but I really hit a wall at 80 miles everytime.  Still trying to figure the rolling hills on the course.   My friend stands up all of the difficult hills, and I am following my textbook advice to stay seated and keep my RPMs up.   He averages about 3 mph faster than me and yet still acts like he has energy left over on our rides.... When I try this, I am exhausted afterwards.

This week my hours drop from 18 to 10.  Yea!.  Recovery week
